Day 1 – Arrive in San Jose
Welcome to Costa Rica. Arrive at Juan Santamaria International Airport. After passing through Immigration you will be met by one of our representatives, who will take you to your hotel and give you your welcome kit. Overnight in San Jose City.

Day 2 – Car pick up and self drive to Puerto Viejo.
The town of Puerto Viejo is rustic and charming and is renowned for its beautiful beaches. The famous Salsa Brava beach is an excellent surfing spot (experts only!). The harbour after which Puerto Viejo is named is calm and peaceful, with beautiful still blue waters and inviting shores.

Day 3 - Free day at Puerto Viejo.

Day 4 – Self-drive to Arenal Volcano Area.
Nothing short of “awesome” is the only way to describe the feeling one has when seeing Arenal Volcano for the first time. Moving through the valleys of the agriculturally rich Northern Zone up through San Carlos and into the towering rain forest, this is one of the most inviting regions in Costa Rica.

Day 5 – Free day at Arenal Volcano

Day 6 – Self-drive to Rincon de la Vieja
The climate in this national park is so diverse that areas with a severe dry season lasting 4 or 5 months are immediately followed by others, where there is constant rainfall, which gives rise to a forest mass rich in epiphytes. The differences in altitude and climate play an important role in the distribution of the flora and fauna. Resident species include the resplendent quetzal, three-wattles bellbirds, morpho butterflies, tapir, coatimundis and three kinds of monkeys.

Day 7 – Rincón de la Vieja. Hotel Borinquen

Day 8 - Self drive to Samara Beach.
Playa Samara is one of the nicest beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula. Not only is it a wide and beautiful, sandy beach but it is also very safe for swimming as there is a coral reef protecting the coast from waves and currents. Snorkeling, windsurfing and diving are some of the popular water sport activities available in this area.

Day 9 Free day at Samara Beach

Day 10.- Self-drive to Monteverde Cloudforest.
Founded in the 1950's by a group of Quakers from the U.S., Monteverde has gained international renown as one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the tropics.

Day 11.- Free day at Monteverde Fonda Vela.

Day 12 – Self-drive (or transfer) to Manuel Antonio.
Manuel Antonio National Park with an extension of almost 1,800 acres attracts the visitor with gorgeous hiking trails through abundant, tropical jungle that borders white sand beaches and blue-green waters. The evergreen fascinating forest is the home of about 100 species of mammals and 180 kinds of birds.

Day 13 – At leisure at Manuel Antonio

Day 14 – At leisure at Manuel Antonio

Day 15 – Self-drive to San Jose for car drop off. Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight at hotel

Day 16 – Transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport.
